E85 Technical Assistance

The Clean Cities Program supports teams of technical experts, known as "Tiger Teams," that assist fleets in successfully implementing petroleum-displacement programs, including E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) programs. Tiger Teams help Clean Cities coalitions overcome problems installing alternative fuel infrastructure and operating alternative fuel vehicles.

One area of focus for the Tiger Teams is technical problem solving related to alternative fuel infrastructure operations. These problems include fueling station design and site issues, interaction with alternative fuel providers and fire-safety code officials, fueling station performance and maintenance requirements, and user/operator training.
