Urbanized Area Formula grants provide funding to urbanized areas and states for transit-related purposes. Funding is made available to public entities with the legal authority to receive and dispense Federal funds. Eligible projects focus on capital investments in bus and bus-related activities; planning, design, and evaluation of transit projects and other technical transportation-related studies; and capital investments in new and existing fixed guideway systems.
