The Non-Urbanized Area Formula Program assists in the maintenance, development, improvement, and use of public transportation systems in rural and small urban areas; helps people in non-urbanized areas get transportation to health care, shops, school, employment, pubic services, and recreation; assists in the development and support of intercity bus transportation; and more. The program provides funding for capital, operating, and administrative purposes to state and local governments, non-profit organizations, and public transit operators.
