Counties in the northern part of the state have the potential to produce 1-500 thousand biomass tonnes/year/county from forest and primary mill residues. Counties around Atlanta can produce 1-100 thousand biomass tonnes/year/county from urban wood and secondary mill residues. In the central and southern part of the state, many counties can produce 1-100 thousand biomass tonnes/year/county from crops and crop residues and in the most southwest corner of the state about 100-250 thousand biomass tonnes/year/county can be produced.
