A number of light-duty and heavy-duty hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and all-electric vehicles (EVs) are available from a variety of automakers or are in development.

Light-Duty Vehicles

A variety of light-duty vehicles are available. Search for light-duty HEVs, PHEVs, and EVs. Many major auto manufacturers and start-up companies are working to make EVs and PHEVs available. FuelEconomy.gov maintains a list of vehicles under development and their release dates.

Heavy-Duty Vehicles

A variety of heavy-duty hybrid electric vehicles and all-electric vehicles are available. Use the Heavy-Duty Vehicle Search to look for heavy-duty EVs or the following heavy-duty HEVs:

Neighborhood Electric Vehicles

Neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs), also called low-speed vehicles, are commonly used for neighborhood commuting, light hauling, and delivery. A variety of companies are manufacturing these small vehicles. NEVs are typically limited to areas with 35-mile-per-hour speed limits or for off-road service on college campuses or at airports and resort areas. They help people move through limited-commute areas. Several NEVs are available. Search for low-speed NEVs.
