Natural Gas Transit (and School Bus) Users Group Activities
The Natural Gas Transit and School Bus Users Group (TUG) facilitates stakeholder quarterly webcasts, produces a quarterly newsletter, and sends out notices of interest to transit and school bus fleets. Through these activities, the TUG assists stakeholders in several ways:
- Sharing lessons learned and problem-solving techniques that address common challenges faced by natural gas bus fleets
- Providing a technical forum and network for natural gas bus fleet maintenance staff
- Communicating safety issues and codes and standards updates related to natural gas buses
- Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and natural gas vehicle/equipment manufacturers
TUG stakeholders also can enlist the help of the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities Technical Assistance Project (Tiger Teams) to solve specific problems, including the following:
- Vehicle performance and driveability
- Safety
- Maintenance
- Driver acceptance
- Fueling station design and operation
- Alternative fuel provider interaction and availability
To become a TUG stakeholder, complete the subscription form, or contact the TUG for more information. TUG participation is limited to people affiliated with transit agencies, school bus fleets, or government agencies.
