Alamo Area Clean Cities (San Antonio) Coalition

Christopher Ashcraft has provided environmental, alternative energy, and agricultural analysis to the federal government and numerous state and local organizations. While employed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, he worked with a diverse group of 30 committee members throughout the United States and assisted in the development of advice to the EPA Administrator on issues related to agriculture, rural communities, and alternative energy.

He currently holds the position of coordinator for the Alamo Area Clean Cities Coalition in San Antonio, Texas, where he works to develop public and private partnerships that promote the national Clean Cities initiatives aimed at securing national economic, environmental, and energy security. The Coalition provides support for local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to the reduction of petroleum consumption by promoting alternative fuels and vehicles, fuel blends, fuel economy, and idle reduction.

Ashcraft holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maine in political science with a minor in military science and leadership development. Upon graduation Christopher Ashcraft received a Commission as a Medical Service Corps Officer in the United States Army where he completed his service obligations with an honorable discharge.

Yliana Flores is co-coordinator for the Alamo Area Clean Cities Coalition in San Antonio, TX where she works to develop events and partnerships that align with the goals of Clean Cities. Yliana joined Alamo Area Clean Cities in 2010 as an intern through Public Allies, a 10-month long AmeriCorps program designed to strengthen communities through leadership development. During her time as an intern, Yliana helped develop several events include a biodiesel workshop and a propane event. In addition to working with Clean Cites, Yliana also worked with Public Allies to develop and implement several community volunteer projects in the San Antonio community. In 2011, Yliana completed her internship with Public Allies AmeriCorps and became a full-time employee at Alamo Area Clean Cities.

Yliana graduated from St. Mary's University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in English/Communication Art.
