Clean Cities Coordinator
Christopher Rice manages the Transportation and Clean Cities programs for the Maryland Energy Administration. He's currently working with the Maryland Public Service Commission on the regulatory treatment of electric vehicle re-charging stations. He is also working with the Maryland Department of Transportation to establish the Maryland Electric Vehicle Council and the implementation of the Electric Vehicle Excise Tax Credit Program. Chris is working on a project to install 78 publicly-accessible electric vehicle charging stations and establishing an Electric Vehicle Re-charging Station Tax Credit Program. In addition he manages the Maryland Hybrid Truck Movement Initiative, which is assisting five national fleets in purchasing 143 heavy duty hybrid trucks.
His past projects include: anaerobic digestion, biomass combustion/gasification, biodiesel consumption/production, ethanol consumption/production, hybrid electric and all electric vehicles, farm energy audits and landfill gas. In addition Chris runs the Renewable Electricity Production Tax Credit Program and the Bio-Heating Oil Tax Credit Program.
Chris graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2001.
