Aspen Nero

Aspen Nero is the Director of Southeast Louisiana Clean Fuels Partnership. As a lifelong Gulf Coast resident, Aspen is dedicated to creating a sustainable and resilient region within Southeast Louisiana. At her undergraduate alma mater, the University of Mississippi, she helped create the Mississippi Alumni and Students for Sustainability (MASS) which established an opt-in green fund at the university to help fund clean energy off-sets and sustainability projects. She has a master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans and has focused her planning efforts on mitigation and environmental planning. Before joining the Regional Planning Commission as an Environmental Planner and Clean Cities Director in October 2022, she worked in local government at the City of New Orleans as a land use planner doing stormwater planning and capital planning.
