Alexander Kolpakov

Alexander Kolpakov, director of the Tampa Bay Clean Cities Coalition (TBCCC), has been actively involved in the coalition since it was formed in 2012, serving originally as co-director. In addition to his work with TBCCC, he is a research faculty at the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at the University of South Florida.

During his 14 years with CUTR, Kolpakov has been managing a variety of transportation-related research projects, focusing primarily on evaluating alternative propulsion technologies and fuels, assessing the economic impact of transportation infrastructure investment, as well as performing transportation policy analysis. His work for local, state, and federal transit agencies includes synthesizing idle reduction practices, analyzing the impacts of the widespread adoption of advanced electric drive technologies, and tracking the operations and maintenance costs associated with operating alternative fuel transit vehicles.

Kolpakov holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of South Florida (Tampa), and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Chuvash State University (Russia).
