Irene Rizza is the Communication & Northern Coordinator for the Utah Clean Cities Coalition (UCCC). She joined the coalition in the summer of 2010 as UCCC's first CCUWDP intern. After graduating from the University of Utah in the spring of 2011, she was hired as the Communication Coordinator and in the fall was promoted to Northern Coordinator. In this role she will work to develop a robust communication network within the community and among stakeholders; support, market and expand Utah's clean fleets and infrastructure; and collaborate with local agencies and organizations to promote reduced petroleum use and clean air strategies.

Rizza has a Master's of Science and Technology in Environmental Science, with an environmental chemistry focus, from the University of Utah. She interned with the Energy Commercial Center (ECC), a branch of the Universities TCO which focuses on the commercialization of renewable energy and energy efficiency, where she created a technology assessment protocol . Rizza has three years of teaching experience with a variety of age groups, and holds a Bachelors degree in Geological Science with a minor in sociology.
