Since joining the University of Vermont Transportation Research Center in 2010, Tom McGrath has worked on many programs, including Eco-Driving workshops, the National Summer Transportation Institute, and the Vermont Clean Cities Coalition. Now serving as the coordinator of the Vermont Clean Cities Coalition, Tom is focused on projects that will reduce the country's consumption of transportation petroleum and increase our energy security and independence. Working with public and private organizations, as well as the general public, Clean Cities initiatives include alternative fuels, advanced-technology vehicles, and behavior changes such as anti-idling policies and vehicle miles traveled (VMT) reduction.

A Massachusetts native, Tom holds both a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Vermont and coaches softball at Rice Memorial High School in South Burlington, Vermont.
