Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) User Fee Study

The Vermont Agency of Transportation, in consultation with the Joint Fiscal Office, the Motor Vehicle Department, Department of Taxes, and Department of Public Service, analyzed and reported on options for user fees and fee collection mechanisms for AFVs using fuels that are not currently taxed. In addition, the Committee on Transportation Funding released a report on estimated transportation revenues over five years and potential new sources of revenue, including a tax based on vehicle miles traveled.
