State Energy Use Study

The Vermont Department of Public Service must convene an interagency and stakeholder working group to study and report to the general assembly on policies and funding mechanisms that will help achieve the following goals: (1) to have 90% of the energy consumed in the state be renewable energy by 2050 and (2) to reduce the state greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2050, as compared to a 1990 baseline. The goals apply across sectors and include transportation. (Reference Senate Bill 214, 2012)
