The New Hampshire legislature meets annually from early January to the end of June. During the session, the governor must sign or veto legislation within five days after transmittal (except Sundays and holidays) or it becomes law without signature. If transmittal occurs after adjournment and the governor fails to act upon the bill within five days (except Sundays and holidays) the legislation is pocket vetoed.
