Legislative Session Information

The Virginia Legislature meets annually from early January to early March. During the session, the governor must sign or veto legislation within seven days of transmittal or it becomes law without signature. The governor must act upon legislation received during the last seven days of the session within thirty days of the last day of the session or it becomes law without signature.
