
Louisiana Incentives and Laws

The Louisiana legislature meets in even-numbered years from the end of March to extend for no longer than 60 legislative days during a period of 85 days. In odd-numbered years, the legislature meets from the end of April for no longer than 45 legislative days during a period of 60 days. During the session, the governor must sign or veto legislation within 10 days of transmittal or it becomes law without signature. Legislation transmitted with less than 10 days remaining in session must be acted upon by the governor within 20 days of transmittal or it becomes law without signature.
